Ice Cream & Tomato Chips
Anyway I just couldn't do it last night. So I had an icecream bar in town for the afternoon. Then ate a bag of tomato chips in my room for dinner. OMG it was the best thing ever.
And I'm also not feeling the dal and roti and rice again tonight. So before I get to the bus stop we have a chip stop planned. Ah........the little pleasures in life.

When It Rains... The Whole City Shuts Down
It rained today and all of our placements were closed. With the exception of Sarah's (public school).
So.....today was pretty amazing. For a lazy person. I was completely wiped out from ... I think everything. We are constantly on the move here, with working or trying to go to town, or flying somewhere or driving somewhere, etc. etc. etc. there is never a moment's peace to just sit. So this morning Melissa and I were like screw it... we're going to lay in bed and read all morning. Well... that didn't happen. I took my book and put it up by my pillow and layed there until Quinn came in and remarked that it looked like I was really into my book - lol. That I was trying to absorb it by osmosis. Shortly after that I fell asleep until lunch. And so did Melissa. Lol.
It was a lovely morning. And the weather here is actually chilly now after the rain! But we are loving it! Just took our adventure into town and the computers are working. So today is good. Just super pissed I can't upload any photos... :( There's always tomorrow :)

Our Yogi
I also bought an 8 metal bracelet in Mc Leod Gange that is supposed to help reduce symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. It was only 40 rupees!!!! And I've always wanted one of these. (That's less than a dollar, btw).
So I asked the yogi about it and he confirmed that these bracelets are very effective. He warned me though not to eat "non - veg" with RA. I told him I don't anyway. He told me that I also need to continue practicing yoga everyday once I get back to the US to be cured. Funny thing is and I told him....... I know he's right, because it's worked before. I told him I was very glad to meet him and that this will give me a jump start into practicing again.
We are doing "deep relaxation" tonight he told us. We're all pretty psyched about that.
P.S. Classes are 200 rupees a night, per person (that's about 5$) but our house father, Bobby, is paying half for each of us, so it's only about 2.50$. Ttly worth it.

What We Do to Get to a Computer in the Himalayas
2. Wait at bus stand.
3. Pay 5-7 rupees to get on bus.
4. Take 15 min crowded bus ride to Palampur. Where people are jam packed so closely that my purse usually sits on top of the person next to me. Oh yes, and where most people do not wear deodorant. Uh.
5. Walk to several internet cafes until you find one that's open (some are open some days, others are not - and there is no rhyme or reason as to why.
6. Once you find a place - see if their "electricity" is working. It's been about 50% of the times.
7. Log on and wait about 10 min to get to any site you want.
8. Have the computer shut down on you - or completely freeze - at least once or twice.
9. MAYBE get something accomplished.
10. Then PAY to have used the internet.
11. Repeat the whole process backwards to get home... the walking... the paying for the bus... the bus ride.. and then the walk up and down hills again.
UUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
And yesterday - just for extra fun Melissa and I did all of this, just to have every f-ing shop in town closed!!!!!!! I was soooooo irritated and completely exhausted after we got home. So we came on this 2+ hour long journey just for the hell of it. Not to mention I really didn't think we were going to even get off at our stop because no one would move out of the aisle or away from the door. Then we got honked at just waaaaay more times than normal and Melissa's pen exploded on her hands.
All of this (combined with other things) prompted us to make a list of all the things we will not miss and the things that we take for granted back home.

Virus
You have NO idea how upset that makes me for two reasons. 1. The pictures are fab. and 2. It is an adventure and a half to get to a computer that works. I'll elaborate in the next post.
Thankfully Quinn has an extra camera card and is going to let me borrow and send back to her in the US. So.....more pictures tomorrow.
Sorry :(
